UNWAVERING COMMITMENT

Joan believes that the best interior design evolves as a project unfolds – that it is an intuitive process (never forced or contrived), and that gradually a sense of style will emerge. She works closely with her clients to gain a deep understanding of their desires, while blending that awareness with the functional requirements of each space. She will often have custom furniture built in order to offer what is not available from the marketplace.

Joan also works with a very strong commitment to the architecture of a home, and every interior is designed to fine tune that relationship: “There is continuity in this approach, whether the vocabulary is historical or contemporary, and it is reflected in the entirety.” Joan’s designs are always unique – she may combine the austere with the baroque, the old with the new, the priceless with the plain – always following her instinct.
